Material guide & care
You are not a professional when it comes to terms like "14k Gold-Filled" and "925 Sterling Silver", but still want to know what you can trust your piece of jewelery to be?
No problem! Here we explain the most important materials to you.

14k gold-filled
14k Gold-Filled is one of our favorite materials to work with because it is particularly high quality, yet affordable.
The carrier material (usually brass) is connected directly to the gold layer. The gold layer used is 100 times thicker than conventional gold plating.

The gold content in jewelery marked with "14k Gold-Filled" must be at least 5%, which means that this material is very similar in quality to real gold.

14k Gold-Filled is considered to be particularly stable and abrasion-resistant - with the right care you can also wear it in the water.

Warning: water yes, please! But never chlorine or salt water. And please take good care of your piece of jewelry after it has come into contact with water. This means that you pat it dry and every now and then it will also be happy if you remove flakes of skin with a mild soap and a soft toothbrush.
Perfume, deodorants and the natural pH value of your skin can still have an effect on your piece of jewelry. We therefore recommend that you give him a break in your jewelery bag every now and then (e.g. while sleeping, exercising, ...).

stainless steel
Stainless steel is also known as stainless steel and has gained popularity in fashion jewelry production in recent years due to its great properties.

Stainless steel can be gold-plated with various carat coatings. It is called hypoallergenic, which means that it is very allergy-friendly. In addition, stainless steel is particularly robust due to its hard material. This material does not scratch easily and is therefore also great to wear in the sand. It can also withstand water and sweat.

14-24k gold plated
Gold is measured in carats, which is what the "k" stands for. 1 carat is equivalent to 4.17% gold. So everything takes place within the range of 14-24 carats, with 14k being the lowest carat and 24k being 100% pure gold. In order to work with alloys below 24 carats, other materials are mixed in. This is also justified, since gold from 22 carats is actually too soft for processing. For example, it would be difficult for it to hold a zirconia stone.
The color is also created by the density of carats.

Many of our jewelry are 14-24k gold-plated. This means that the carrier material (usually brass or silver) is coated with a corresponding layer of gold. We attach great importance to only working with so-called "Desginer Quality" material, which, as the name suggests, is of very high quality.
However, there may be discoloration. Above all, due to the natural pH value of your skin, creams, deodorants and perfume sprays. We therefore recommend taking off these pieces of jewelry while exercising or showering.

Now and then they are allowed to stay on, that doesn't matter. Please clean your jewelry afterwards with a mild soap and a soft brush. Then they will be happy if you dry them in a paper towel.

925 sterling silver
Sterling silver is an alloy of 92.5% silver (aha, hence the 925!) And 7.5% other materials. By adding the 7.5% other materials (mostly copper) the silver becomes better for processing (harder) and more durable.
Unlike gold plating, which can rub off, silver is called "tarnishing". This happens through normal oxidation (since the piece of jewelry is in the air). A fine polishing cloth can help.

Nickel free
Did you know that the limit value for nickel in jewelry is regulated by law in Europe? This helps all nickel allergy sufferers enormously, because actually not much should go wrong anymore. The limit is so low that you shouldn't react to it. You are not allowed to advertise with it, because it is regulated by law and therefore no advertising may be carried out with such properties.

It's a bit like in cosmetics production. In the EU, animal experiments are prohibited in the manufacture of cosmetics by directive, so it is not allowed to advertise. So many manufacturers call themselves "vegan", although it "has to be" anyway :-). But that's just a small digression.

Correct storage
In order to enjoy your jewelry for as long as possible, you should also ensure that it is stored correctly. The perfect place for your jewelry is not only dark, but also has normal room temperature and no high humidity (you read that correctly - the bathroom is unfortunately not good for your jewelry!). So put it in your closet or in a drawer in your bedroom. Your piece of jewelery prefers to lie on velvet.

We recommend that chains with heavy pendants are stored horizontally. It is best to ensure that nothing tangles or tangles in each other during storage - this can cause scratches.

Proper cleaning
Your jewelry wants to be looked after and the earlier you start with it, the longer it will be grateful to you. In fact, it pays to start maintenance before it even looks "necessary". Because the naked eye hardly sees small flakes of skin and sweat, it can be quite a challenge for your companion.

Just as we regularly take off and change other items of clothing that we wear next to the skin, we should also take off the jewelry regularly.

A soft toothbrush and mild soap will help you clean with tap water. You can then pat your piece of jewelery dry and let it dry in a dark place.

Please remember that both air (oxidation) and the natural pH value of your skin as well as sweat and environmental influences (sun, dust, air pollution) can have an impact on your companion and he therefore really wants to be cared for. Then you'll be a great team for a long time.
